This past summer, Cora had the chance to explore Maine, where she was enchanted by the rugged beauty of its coastline and the tranquil stillness of its waters.Growing up in Alaska, Cora spent much of her childhood surrounded by mountains and the ocean. In Maine, she was reminded of those moments as she sat by the shore, watching the tide come in, with pine trees and rocks surrounding her. Inspired by this connection to nature, Cora chose to include paintings of Maine in her ornament collection not only as a homage to the serene beauty of the northeastern coastline, but also the nostalgia it represents. To her, these paintings bring to mind the feeling of returning to something familiar— a sense of home similar to the comfort of gathering with loved ones during the holiday season.
