About the Artist

Cora is a self-taught artist working primarily in portraiture. Her practice began with a childhood passion for drawing and has since expanded across mediums, with oil painting becoming her main focus. She is drawn to the challenge of building form through color and value, using portraiture as a vehicle for storytelling. Her work explores the quiet, often unseen emotional worlds shaped by melancholy, grief, and the complexities of healing. Blending figurative paintings with occasional touches of fantasy and folklore, she creates space for both reality and imagination to exist together.

Beyond art, Cora has always been interested in the natural world and driven by a strong curiosity to understand life on a cellular level. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2023, contributing to research that identified potential therapeutic targets for multiple sclerosis and several types of breast and pediatric cancers. Cora maintains an active interest in neuroscience, and enjoys keeping up with the latest discoveries in biomedical research.

Once a proud city girl, Cora now thrives in the calm, introspective atmosphere of rural Ohio where she shares a home with her loving husband and fiendish cat.
